Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Are you doing anything to celebrate today?

Are you Irish or maybe just Irish for the day?

Did you wear green?

Dress the kids in green?

Did you or do you plan to eat any Irish foods or drink green beer?

Here's a trivia question for you...

What did St. Patrick drive out of Ireland? No fair leaving and googling the answer!

UPDATE: Those of you who said "snakes" are what SP drove out if Ireland are correct! I know it wasn't the toughest question but hey...this isn't your catechism class and I sure ain't a nun ;-)

Funniest answer goes toMrs. Fortune who, once again, forced me to dig into my pile of "last resort underwear" because I pee myself every time I read her.

Most smartass? Why Mom 101, of course :-)

  • I wore green today and we had soda bread at work. Tonight I'm having friends over for some regular-colored beer and cards.
    Happy SPD!

  • Oh I forgot didn't St. Patrick drive snakes out of Ireland? Or was it rats?

  • I am so pathetic...I totally forgot till the day was half over!

  • Nope, no green clothes, green food, or even green beer. I'm not Irish. The hubby is, but since he moved out of the Boston area to live with me in the sticks we never celebrate St. Patrick's Day anymore.
There's always next year! Happy St. P's Day!!

  • I was gonna say he drove a pimped out Caddy. Is that right?

    :-)

  • I dressed the kids in green but all my green stuff was in the laundry. St. Patrick drove out all the snakes.

  • Snakes, of course!

Yes, we celebrated by attending the parade in town, dressing in some green, and enjoying soda bread. Yum! Green beer? Yuck! And for the record, yes, I am of Irish decent. :)

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  • Nothing. Nada. Not a thing. Oh wait, I did spend most of the day with an Irish coworker who taught me how to say "Happy St Patrick's day" in Spanish. But I forgot it already.

  • I wore green earrings (humbug), the boys wore green things, dressed Roxy in green, drank no beer, ate no corned beef or any other Irish delicacy, and did nothing all day long! Spat drove out the snakes, and yes I'm of Irish decent - we actually have family that we are in touch with over there!

  • I teach so I wear a hat and crazy earings. And I am 1/16 Irish. So top of the morning to you.

  • I drank wine in honor of St. Patty's. I think that's what he would've wanted.

  • My husband is around 1/5th Irish, but we don't really celebrate St. Patricks Day.

I threatened to make corned beef and cabbage and he cowered in fear.

Ah, but the beer? He went for that. (wasn't green, though)

  • St. George for me.

  • When I was a kid we'd "bait" leprechauns by stashing gold foil-wrapped chocolate coins all over the backyard. Then, after a dinner of corned beef and cabbage, we'd "hunt" for these magical little men in green suits.

That sort of creeps me out today.

  • johnny-come-lately that I am...
Although Irish, I did only one thing to celebrate after a 11.5 hour work day. Said I to misterpie: "Kiss me, I'm Irish." Hey, that's big news after a week of the stomach flu!

And snakes. Indiana Jones would have kissed that saint just for that, Irish or not.

  • When I lived in Saint Paul we used to have crazy St. Patty's day parties with shamrock tattoos, green beer, lucky charms and everything. This year I settled for wiping up my baby's green snot. Cheers!
